About Acne Treatment
Effective acne treatment depends on identifying the right approach for your skin type, the nature of your acne and any factors that may be driving it. At Changes Clinic, we do not take a one-product-fits-all approach. Our qualified, experienced & insured practitioners carry out a clinical assessment and builds a treatment plan based on what your skin actually needs.
We offer a combination of clinical treatments for acne, including:
Chemical peels — Medical-grade peels including salicylic acid and glycolic acid-based formulas that clear congestion, reduce sebum production and improve skin texture. Salicylic acid peels are particularly effective for active breakouts and oily skin types.
Microneedling — Collagen induction therapy that targets acne scarring and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, remodelling the skin's texture over a course of sessions.
LED light therapy — Blue light therapy targets the bacteria responsible for inflammatory acne, while red light supports healing and reduces redness.
Prescription topical treatments — Where clinically appropriate, our qualified, experienced & insured practitioners can prescribe topical treatments as part of a wider plan.
Treatment plans at Changes Clinic combine approaches where needed. A single chemical peel does not resolve most acne — we build a programme, assess your progress and adjust the plan at each review.

What Our Clients Say
Common Questions
How far is Changes Clinic from Eastleigh?
Changes Clinic is at 1000 Lakeside, Cosham, Portsmouth. From Eastleigh, the drive via the M27 takes approximately 20 to 25 minutes. Free parking is available at the clinic at no charge.
How many sessions will I need?
Acne treatment at Changes Clinic is course-based. Most clients follow a programme of four to eight sessions, spaced two to four weeks apart depending on the treatments involved. We review your skin at each appointment and adjust the plan based on how it is responding. Acne does not resolve in a single session — we are honest about this from the start.
Is there any downtime after acne treatment?
This depends on the treatment. LED light therapy has no downtime at all. Chemical peels can produce redness and visible skin shedding for two to five days, particularly at medium-peel strength. Microneedling causes redness and mild sensitivity for 24 to 48 hours. We advise you on the specific aftercare for each treatment at your appointment, including skincare to use and what to avoid during the healing period.
What happens at my first appointment?
Your first appointment is a free consultation where our qualified, experienced & insured practitioners examine your skin, discusses your acne history and what you have already tried, and asks about any relevant health or hormonal factors. From this, we build a recommended treatment plan and discuss realistic outcomes. We explain each treatment option, how it works and how it fits into your overall plan. You decide what to proceed with and when.
