Acne does not respond to a single generic treatment. What works depends on the type of acne you have, your skin type, your hormonal profile, and what you have already tried. At Changes Clinic, our practitioners carry out a detailed skin assessment before recommending any treatment. We work from our CQC-registered clinic in Portsmouth, around 15 minutes from Gosport via the Fareham road.

The assessment covers the type and severity of your acne — whether it is primarily comedonal (blackheads and whiteheads), inflammatory (papules and pustules), cystic, or a combination. We look at your skin type, any triggers you have identified, your current skincare routine, and your treatment history. Where hormonal acne is suspected, we discuss this at the consultation and factor it into the treatment plan. A treatment that addresses the visible lesions without considering the underlying drivers will not produce lasting results.

We combine clinical treatments with prescribed skincare where appropriate. For clients with inflammatory or cystic acne, we work alongside your GP if systemic treatment such as antibiotics or isotretinoin is part of your care. For mild to moderate acne, our in-clinic treatments and prescribed topicals are often sufficient to produce a significant improvement. We do not oversell. We tell you what is likely to work for your skin and what timeline is realistic.

We treat all grades of acne from mild comedonal through to moderate inflammatory acne. We also see clients with post-acne hyperpigmentation and acne scarring who want to improve the texture and tone of their skin once their acne is under control.

I’ve suffered with rosacea for several years and have tried all sorts of creams, skincare routines and products, but nothing really made a lasting difference. Looking after my skin and being mindful of my diet definitely helps to keep it under control, but IPL at Changes Clinic has made the biggest difference by far. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with great staff. My lazer hair removal was undertaken by two very capable proffessional young women Kelly and Surmaiyah. Both demonstrate constant care and ensure this not always comfortable experience is as pleasant as possible. The facility is immaculately clean and there is excellent visitor free parking available.
