Prescription weight loss options

Wegovy and Mounjaro are prescription-only injectable medications licensed in the UK for weight management. Both work by regulating appetite signals, helping you feel fuller for longer and reducing calorie intake over time. Because these are prescription medicines, our nurse prescriber carries out a clinical assessment before prescribing and provides ongoing monitoring throughout your programme.

Wegovy (semaglutide) injections

Wegovy contains semaglutide and is licensed for weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above with a weight-related health condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol or type 2 diabetes. It is taken as a weekly self-administered injection. Our nurse prescriber assesses your suitability, issues the prescription and checks in with you regularly throughout.

Wegovy 30-day pills

Wegovy is also available in tablet form, making it a viable option for clients who prefer not to self-inject. Like the injectable version, it is a prescription-only medicine. Our nurse prescriber conducts a clinical assessment and prescribes where it is clinically appropriate. This is not available over the counter.

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) injections

Mounjaro contains tirzepatide, which acts on two appetite-regulating hormones rather than one. It is licensed for weight management and has demonstrated strong results in clinical trials. Like Wegovy, it is given as a weekly self-administered injection, prescribed by our nurse prescriber following a proper clinical assessment.

Fat dissolving injections

Fat dissolving injections use an injectable compound to break down fat cells in a targeted area. Once destroyed, the body clears those cells naturally over several weeks. This is not a weight loss treatment in the same way as the prescription options above. It works on specific, localised deposits of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. These treatments do not require a prescription and are carried out by our qualified, experienced & insured practitioners.

Aqualyx

Aqualyx targets stubborn areas of localised fat including the chin, jawline, abdomen, inner thighs and flanks. It disrupts the fat cell membrane, causing the cell to break down and be cleared by the body. A course of two to four sessions is typical, spaced around four to six weeks apart. Results become visible as the body processes the treated cells.

Deso

Deso works on the same principle as Aqualyx, using a slightly different formulation that suits some areas and skin types particularly well. Both are established fat dissolving treatments with a strong safety record. Our qualified, experienced & insured practitioners will advise which product is more appropriate for your area at your consultation.

Fat reduction treatments

Fat reduction treatments use energy to shrink or destroy fat cells without injections. They are non-invasive, require no downtime and produce results that build over several weeks following treatment. These treatments do not require a prescription and are carried out by our qualified, experienced & insured practitioners.

Promax

Promax uses radiofrequency energy to heat and shrink fat cells in the treatment area. It also produces a skin tightening effect, which makes it a good choice for clients who want to address both fat and skin laxity at the same time. It is effective on the abdomen, flanks, thighs and other areas of stubborn fat, and our qualified, experienced & insured practitioners will build a realistic results plan with you at your consultation.

HIFU Focus Dual (fat reduction)

The Focus Dual uses High Intensity Focused Ultrasound to destroy fat cells at a precise depth beneath the skin, without affecting the surface. It is effective on stubborn areas of fat on the abdomen, flanks, inner thighs and other body zones. Results develop over several weeks as the body clears the treated cells. Our qualified, experienced & insured practitioners carry out the treatment and will advise on expected timelines at your consultation.

Combined packages

Many clients see the best results by pairing prescription medication with a targeted body treatment. I’ve suffered with rosacea for several years and have tried all sorts of creams, skincare routines and products, but nothing really made a lasting difference. Looking after my skin and being mindful of my diet definitely helps to keep it under control, but IPL at Changes Clinic has made the biggest difference by far. The redness in my face has reduced so much, and even when I do get a flare up, it’s nowhere near as bad as it used to be because the underlying redness has improved so much. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with great staff. My lazer hair removal was undertaken by two very capable proffessional young women Kelly and Surmaiyah. Both demonstrate constant care and ensure this not always comfortable experience is as pleasant as possible. The facility is immaculately clean and there is excellent visitor free parking available. I have no hesitation in recommending the clinic to others and whilst I can only comment on the treatments I have received to date I will be availing myself of some of the others services offered.

I am so glad I visited the Changes Clinic today for an upper abdominal ultrasound. I was a nervous wreck as I have a bit of a phobia of scans & Andrea was just brilliant with me. I’ve been attending changes for facial hair removal for about 6 months now and I can honestly say it’s been one of the best and easiest experiences for me. For fat dissolving and fat reduction treatments, suitability is assessed by our qualified, experienced & insured practitioners. These treatments work best for clients who are broadly at or near a healthy weight but have specific areas they want to address. Do all the treatments require a prescription?

No. Wegovy and Mounjaro are prescription-only medicines. They require a clinical assessment and a valid prescription from our nurse prescriber before we can supply them. Fat dissolving with Aqualyx or Deso, and fat reduction with Promax or HIFU Focus Dual, do not require a prescription. These are carried out by our qualified, experienced & insured practitioners.

How do the treatments combine?

Prescription medication manages appetite and supports overall weight reduction. Fat dissolving and fat reduction treatments work on specific localised deposits. Used together, they address different aspects of the same goal. We time the treatments so they work alongside each other rather than against each other, and we build the plan around what is realistic for your body and your timeline.

How do I get to the clinic?
