About HIFU Treatment
HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. It is a non-surgical skin tightening and lifting treatment that delivers focused ultrasound energy to deep layers of the skin and underlying tissue. The energy triggers a controlled thermal response that stimulates collagen production and, over several months, produces visible lifting and firming in the treated area.
HIFU targets the SMAS layer — the same tissue layer that a surgical facelift addresses. The difference is that HIFU reaches this layer without incisions, general anaesthetic or surgical recovery. It is particularly effective for mild to moderate skin laxity on the face, neck and brow area.

I’ve suffered with rosacea for several years and have tried all sorts of creams, skincare routines and products, but nothing really made a lasting difference.
Looking after my skin and being mindful of my diet definitely helps to keep it under control, but IPL at Changes Clinic has made the biggest difference by far. The redness in my face has reduced so much, and even when I do get a flare up, it’s nowhere near as bad as it used to be because the underlying redness has improved so much.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere with great staff. My lazer hair removal was undertaken by two very capable proffessional young women Kelly and Surmaiyah. Both demonstrate constant care and ensure this not always comfortable experience is as pleasant as possible. The facility is immaculately clean and there is excellent visitor free parking available.
I have no hesitation in recommending the clinic to others and whilst I can only comment on the treatments I have received to date I will be availing myself of some of the others services offered.

I am so glad I visited the Changes Clinic today for an upper abdominal ultrasound. I was a nervous wreck as I have a bit of a phobia of scans & Andrea was just brilliant with me. How many sessions will I need?
Most clients see the result they are looking for from a single HIFU session. Results continue to improve for up to three months after treatment as new collagen forms. Clients with more advanced skin laxity sometimes return for a second session at the six-month mark to build further on their initial results. We discuss realistic expectations at your consultation so you understand what to expect from one session before committing to more.
Is there any downtime after HIFU?
You may experience mild redness, tenderness or a sensation of warmth in the treated areas for 24 to 48 hours. Some clients notice slight swelling, particularly around the lower face and neck. These effects settle quickly and most clients feel comfortable returning to normal activities the following day. The full lifting and tightening result develops gradually over the following three months.
