HIFU at a clinical standard — not a salon add-on
High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) delivers precise energy to the deep structural layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production and tightening the tissue from the inside out. At Changes Clinic, HIFU treatments are carried out by our qualified, experienced & insured practitioners at our CQC-registered clinic at 1000 Lakeside, Cosham, Portsmouth. HIFU is a medical aesthetic treatment, and the parameters used — depth of penetration, energy level, treatment points — require qualified clinical judgement to apply safely and effectively.
Before treatment, our qualified, experienced & insured practitioners assess your skin to determine whether HIFU is suitable, which depths to target, and what outcome is realistic for your skin at this point. HIFU works at the SMAS layer — the same tissue layer addressed in surgical facelifts — and the results depend on treating the right depth for the right structure. Applying HIFU without proper assessment and calibration can produce underwhelming results or, at high energies, adverse reactions.
This is not the same as the low-grade HIFU used in beauty salons for facial contouring. The clinical-grade systems we use deliver energy at depths and intensities that produce genuine collagen remodelling, and our qualified, experienced & insured practitioners's assessment is what determines whether that energy is applied appropriately.

Common areas include the jawline and jowls, the cheeks, the brow, the neck, and the submental area under the chin. HIFU is particularly effective for clients in their late 30s to 50s who are seeing early to moderate laxity but are not ready for or interested in surgery.

What our clients say
Common questions
How far is Changes Clinic from Worthing?
Changes Clinic is at 1000 Lakeside, Cosham, Portsmouth. Worthing to Portsmouth is approximately 40–45 minutes via the A27, and there is free parking at the clinic.
Is a consultation required before HIFU?
Yes. Our qualified, experienced & insured practitioners assess your skin condition, the degree of laxity, and the appropriate treatment depth before your first session. HIFU is not suitable for all skin types and conditions — the consultation is where that is established. It is also where we set realistic expectations about the timeline and extent of the results.
How long do HIFU results last?
Results from HIFU build gradually over 2–3 months as the body produces new collagen in response to the treatment energy. The lifting and tightening effect typically lasts 12–18 months. Most clients schedule a maintenance session around the 12-month mark. Results vary based on the degree of initial laxity and the number of treatment sessions completed.
What makes Changes Clinic different from a salon offering HIFU?
Clinical-grade HIFU requires qualified, experienced & insured practitioners who can calibrate depth and energy correctly for each client. Our qualified, experienced & insured practitioners assess you before every session and adjusts the protocol as your skin responds over time. Beauty salons often use lower-grade HIFU devices or conservative energy settings to reduce risk. At Changes Clinic, you receive HIFU at clinically effective parameters in a CQC-registered environment with proper governance.
