Laser hair removal uses targeted light energy to damage hair follicles and inhibit regrowth. Multiple sessions are needed because the laser only affects follicles in their active growth phase. Here is how the process works at Changes Clinic.

Step 1 — Your Free Consultation

Your VTCT Level 4 qualified, experienced & insured practitioner carries out a skin and hair assessment to determine the most suitable laser for your skin tone and hair type. We patch-test the treatment area to check your skin's response and map out a treatment schedule. We also go through aftercare requirements and confirm you are a suitable candidate.

Step 2 — Your Treatment

On treatment day, both you and your practitioner wear protective eyewear. We apply a cooling gel to the treatment area and pass the laser handpiece across the skin in systematic sections. The sensation is often described as a warm snap against the skin. Session times vary from 10 minutes for small areas to around 60 minutes for full legs or back.

Step 3 — Your Results

Hair sheds over the 10 to 14 days following each session. With each successive treatment, regrowth becomes finer and sparser. Most clients achieve 80 to 90% permanent hair reduction over a full course. We recommend sessions every four to six weeks for the face and eight weeks for the body. Book your free consultation

I’ve suffered with rosacea for several years and have tried all sorts of creams, skincare routines and products, but nothing really made a lasting difference. What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your first appointment is a free consultation and patch test. Your practitioner assesses your skin tone and hair type, selects the appropriate laser, and performs a small test patch on the area you want treated. We book your first full treatment session two to four weeks after the patch test to allow time to assess your skin's response.

Am I a suitable candidate for laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal works on most skin tones and hair types. It is most effective on clients with a contrast between skin tone and hair colour. Very light or white hair does not absorb laser energy well, which limits effectiveness. Treatment is not recommended during pregnancy. If you are taking certain medications, particularly photosensitising drugs, we may need to delay treatment. Your practitioner confirms suitability at consultation.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. We offer Klarna at checkout, so you can divide the cost of your treatment course into three monthly payments with no interest. This option is available for all treatments, including full course packages.

How far is Changes Clinic from Havant?
