Laser hair removal uses concentrated light energy to damage hair follicles and inhibit regrowth. When performed correctly, it delivers lasting reduction. When performed by an unqualified operator using the wrong device for your skin type, it causes burns, hyperpigmentation and substandard results.

At Changes Clinic, every laser hair removal treatment is performed by a VTCT Level 4 qualified, experienced & insured practitioner, the recognised professional qualification in laser and light-based treatments. Before your first session, we carry out a full skin and hair assessment to determine the correct laser wavelength and settings for your skin tone and hair type. We perform a patch test and wait for the appropriate interval before proceeding with a full treatment.

We use both diode lasers, which are highly effective on fair to medium skin tones, and Nd:YAG lasers, which are the clinical standard for darker skin tones. We do not use IPL, which is a broad-spectrum light device rather than a laser and is less precise and less effective for permanent hair reduction.

I’ve suffered with rosacea for several years and have tried all sorts of creams, skincare routines and products, but nothing really made a lasting difference. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with great staff. My lazer hair removal was undertaken by two very capable proffessional young women Kelly and Surmaiyah. Both demonstrate constant care and ensure this not always comfortable experience is as pleasant as possible. The facility is immaculately clean and there is excellent visitor free parking available. How far is Changes Clinic from Petersfield?

Changes Clinic is based at 1000 Lakeside, Cosham, Portsmouth, approximately 25 to 30 minutes from Petersfield via the A3. There is free parking on site. Most treatment sessions for smaller areas take 15 to 20 minutes, so the total trip time is well within reason for a regular treatment course.

Is a consultation required before laser hair removal?

Yes. We carry out a skin and hair assessment before your first session. This covers your skin tone, hair colour and type, your medical history, any medications and whether you have had previous laser or IPL treatments. We then perform a patch test on the planned treatment area and book your first full session once we have confirmed the correct settings. This process exists to protect your skin and produce the best possible result.

How long do laser hair removal results last?

After a full course of 6 to 8 sessions, most clients achieve an 80 to 90% reduction in hair density and thickness. The remaining hair is typically finer and lighter. Annual maintenance sessions help sustain the result. Hormonal changes, such as pregnancy or certain medications, can stimulate hair regrowth in treated areas over time.
