1.the arch or ridge forming the upper part of the orbit of the eye.
2.the fringe of hair growing on this arch or ridge.
Eyebrows are just a hairy area of skin above your eyes, right? Wrong!
An eyebrows’ main function is to prevent sweat, water, and other debris from falling down into the eye, but they seem nowadays so much more than that.
Eyebrows can be one of your most adjustable fashion statements. Fluffy and natural, full and arched, fine and tidy. It is said that our eyes are the windows to our soul – and that makes our eyebrows the frame! A good eyebrow shape can take years off, can accentuate cheekbones and lift heavy eyelids.
Over recent years eyebrow treatments have certainly taken the beauty and cosmetic industry by storm and there seems no evidence in this slowing down. With semi permanent makeup and microblading treatments being one of the most popular and low maintenance brow treatments available.
Eyebrows are so important to human communication and facial expression. They are one of the most expressive parts of our bodies. They give personality and character to the person they belong to, by forming part of our subliminal body language. With your eyebrows, you can communicate your feelings to other people without even knowing it. We tend to raise our brows when we are telling the truth, excited or being sympathetic. We contract them when we concentrate or are struggling to understand.
Filmmakers and illustrators can convey a fictional characters feelings or mood with just eyebrow shape alone, so they are powerful accessories! Soft and arched brows can portray an approachable relaxed and happy. Whilst eyebrows closer together and straighter can indicate anger to grouchiness.
So next time you take a look in the mirror, ask yourself, what do your eyebrows say about you?
