How Permanent Makeup Works at Changes Clinic

Permanent makeup is a cosmetic tattooing technique. The process at Changes Clinic is thorough and client-paced from first consultation to healed result.

Step 1: Your Free Consultation

We discuss the treatment you want, assess your natural colouring and skin type, and review the features you want to define. Our practitioner maps out the proposed shape using a removable tool so you can visualise the result before any pigment is placed. We also walk through patch testing requirements, healing expectations and aftercare so you know what the full process involves.

Step 2: Your Treatment Session

We apply a topical anaesthetic cream to the area before the session begins. Our practitioner deposits pigment into the upper layer of the skin using a fine needle or machine technique suited to the treatment chosen. Sessions typically take 90 to 120 minutes. The treated area will appear more defined and darker immediately after treatment, which settles during healing.

Step 3: Your Healed Result

Pigment fades by 30 to 40% during the healing period, which takes 4 to 6 weeks. A top-up appointment at 6 to 8 weeks gives your practitioner the chance to refine shape and density based on how your skin has healed. I’ve suffered with rosacea for several years and have tried all sorts of creams, skincare routines and products, but nothing really made a lasting difference. Looking after my skin and being mindful of my diet definitely helps to keep it under control, but IPL at Changes Clinic has made the biggest difference by far. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with great staff. My lazer hair removal was undertaken by two very capable proffessional young women Kelly and Surmaiyah. Both demonstrate constant care and ensure this not always comfortable experience is as pleasant as possible. The facility is immaculately clean and there is excellent visitor free parking available. Am I a suitable candidate for permanent makeup?

Permanent makeup is suitable for most adults. We do not treat clients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, on blood-thinning medication, or who have active skin conditions in the treatment area. We also advise clients to pause retinoid skincare products before treatment. Your practitioner discusses all of this at your consultation.
