How Permanent Makeup Works at Changes Clinic
Permanent makeup, also called semi-permanent makeup or micropigmentation, uses fine needles to deposit pigment into the upper layers of the skin. The result lasts for one to three years depending on the treatment and your skin. Here is how we approach it at Changes Clinic.
Step 1 — Your Free Consultation
Your permanent makeup artist meets with you to discuss the look you want to achieve. We assess your skin tone, natural features and existing brow, lip or eyeliner shape. We map out the design together so you can see exactly what we are planning before any pigment is applied. We also go through your medical history to confirm suitability.
Step 2 — Your Treatment
We apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment area and allow time for it to take effect before beginning. Your artist works with a specialist permanent makeup device, building the pigment in fine passes. The process is precise and methodical. Treatment time varies from around 90 minutes for brows to two hours or more for lips. You will be able to see the result immediately.
Step 3 — Your Results
In the days following treatment, the colour appears darker and more intense. This softens significantly as the skin heals, usually over 10 to 14 days. The final settled colour is typically 20 to 40% lighter than the immediate post-treatment result. We include a top-up appointment at six to eight weeks to refine shape, fill any light patches and adjust tone where needed. Book your free consultation

Why Choose Changes Clinic Near Havant
Pre-treatment design session. We take time at consultation to map out your treatment design before we begin. You see the shape and proposed placement on your face before any work starts. This is not a quick sketch before we go ahead.
Quality pigments with natural fade. We use high-quality permanent makeup pigments that fade softly over time. Lesser-quality pigments can shift to unflattering tones as they age. Our pigments are selected for their longevity and clean, natural fade characteristics.
