Uneven tone and pigmentation

Sun damage, melasma and post-inflammatory pigmentation all respond well to chemical peels. By accelerating cell turnover, peels gradually bring clearer skin to the surface.

Acne and acne scarring

Regular mild peels help keep breakouts under control. Medium and deep peels can make a visible difference to the scarring left behind. For active acne, we often recommend a course of mild peels over time.

Fine lines and dull skin

Chemical peels stimulate collagen production and remove the build-up of dead skin that makes the complexion look flat. Even a mild peel leaves the skin noticeably brighter.

The right strength for your skin

We use a range of peel formulations, including Obagi Blue Peel Radiance for regular brightening, Enerpeel for targeted skin conditions, and TCA peels for deeper resurfacing, scarring and pigmentation. The right choice depends entirely on your skin and what you want to achieve. We will advise at your consultation.

Medium and deep peels are administered by our clinical team and do involve a recovery period. We will discuss this clearly before any treatment so you can plan accordingly.

I’ve suffered with rosacea for several years and have tried all sorts of creams, skincare routines and products, but nothing really made a lasting difference. Looking after my skin and being mindful of my diet definitely helps to keep it under control, but IPL at Changes Clinic has made the biggest difference by far. The redness in my face has reduced so much, and even when I do get a flare up, it’s nowhere near as bad as it used to be because the underlying redness has improved so much. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with great staff. My lazer hair removal was undertaken by two very capable proffessional young women Kelly and Surmaiyah. Both demonstrate constant care and ensure this not always comfortable experience is as pleasant as possible. The facility is immaculately clean and there is excellent visitor free parking available. I have no hesitation in recommending the clinic to others and whilst I can only comment on the treatments I have received to date I will be availing myself of some of the others services offered.

I am so glad I visited the Changes Clinic today for an upper abdominal ultrasound. I was a nervous wreck as I have a bit of a phobia of scans & Andrea was just brilliant with me. Common questions

Is a chemical peel the same as an acid treatment?

Yes. Chemical peels use acids such as glycolic, lactic, salicylic or trichloroacetic acid (TCA) to resurface the skin. The term is interchangeable. The acids used and their concentrations vary based on the peel type and your skin's needs.

Will my skin peel visibly?

It depends on the peel strength. Mild peels cause very little visible peeling. Medium and deep peels cause flaking or shedding over several days, which is the old skin being replaced by new skin forming beneath.

How much downtime is there?

Mild peels require very little downtime. Redness settles within a few hours. Deeper peels may require up to 14 days of recovery. We will always advise on expected downtime before your treatment so you can plan around it.

How many sessions do I need?

For general brightening, a single session or a course of four to six mild peels spaced four to six weeks apart works well. For pigmentation or scarring, a course of peels may be more appropriate. We plan this at your consultation.

Can chemical peels be used on darker skin tones?

Yes, but with care. Certain peels carry a risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation on darker skin. We assess skin type carefully and select a formulation appropriate for your complexion.

What should I avoid before a chemical peel?
