What lip blush can do

Define the lip border

A soft, precise line around the lips creates definition and can correct slight unevenness in the natural lip shape. Many clients find this alone makes a significant visual difference.

Add colour and warmth

A wash of colour through the body of the lip gives a healthy, flushed appearance without looking made-up. The pigment is chosen to complement your skin tone and the look you want.

Give the impression of fuller lips

By defining the lip border and adding colour, lip blush can make lips appear fuller without adding volume. It is a good complement to lip fillers or an alternative for clients who prefer a less structural approach.

What to expect

Your appointment includes a consultation, during which we agree on colour and definition before any work is done. Topical anaesthetic cream is applied before treatment for comfort. The initial result will appear darker than the settled colour and will fade over one to two weeks as the skin heals.

A review and top-up appointment at six weeks allows for any adjustment once the true colour is visible. Both appointments are included in the treatment price.

I’ve suffered with rosacea for several years and have tried all sorts of creams, skincare routines and products, but nothing really made a lasting difference. Looking after my skin and being mindful of my diet definitely helps to keep it under control, but IPL at Changes Clinic has made the biggest difference by far. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with great staff. My lazer hair removal was undertaken by two very capable proffessional young women Kelly and Surmaiyah. Both demonstrate constant care and ensure this not always comfortable experience is as pleasant as possible. The facility is immaculately clean and there is excellent visitor free parking available. I have no hesitation in recommending the clinic to others and whilst I can only comment on the treatments I have received to date I will be availing myself of some of the others services offered.

I am so glad I visited the Changes Clinic today for an upper abdominal ultrasound. I was a nervous wreck as I have a bit of a phobia of scans & Andrea was just brilliant with me. Common questions

Will it look natural?

Yes, if that is what you want. The pigment is chosen specifically to suit your skin tone and the look you describe at consultation. We can create anything from a very subtle definition to a more obvious colour, but we always aim for something that looks intentional rather than applied.

Does it hurt?

Topical anaesthetic is applied before treatment. Most clients find the lips more sensitive than other areas, but the level of discomfort is generally low and brief.

How long does lip blush in Portsmouth last?

Most results last one to three years, depending on your skin type and sun exposure. Colour fades gradually and a refresh every one to two years maintains the result.

Can I combine this with lip fillers?

Yes. Many clients have lip fillers for volume and lip blush for colour and definition. The two treatments complement each other well. We recommend allowing any recent filler to settle for at least four weeks before booking lip blush.

Is there any downtime?

Several days of healing. The lips will be slightly swollen and the colour will appear darker initially. You should avoid oily lip products, spicy food and sun exposure while healing.

What if the colour does not look right?

The six-week top-up appointment is specifically for assessing and adjusting the settled colour. Minor changes can be made at this point.
