How Skin Lesion Removal Works at Changes Clinic
Skin lesion removal at Changes Clinic is a minor surgical procedure carried out in a clinical setting. We follow a clear three-step process from assessment to recovery.
Step 1 — Your Clinical Assessment
Your nurse prescriber assesses the lesion in question, reviews your medical history and discusses your options. We examine the size, location and nature of the lesion to confirm the most appropriate removal technique. We also flag any lesions that require a dermatology referral before treatment.
Step 2 — Your Procedure
Removal takes place at our CQC-registered clinic at 1000 Lakeside, Cosham, Portsmouth. We use local anaesthetic to numb the area before any procedure begins. Depending on the lesion, we use surgical excision, shave removal or another appropriate minor surgical technique. Most procedures take 30 to 60 minutes.
Step 3 — Your Recovery
We close the wound with sutures where required and provide detailed aftercare instructions before you leave. Sutures are typically removed at 7 to 14 days. Most patients return to normal daily activity within a day or two of the procedure. Book your free consultation
What We Treat
Treatment at Changes Clinic is for benign lesions only. We carry out a clinical assessment before every procedure, and we will recommend a dermatology referral if there is any clinical doubt about the nature of a lesion. Your health comes before the appointment.
