Diagnostic ultrasound at a clinical standard
A private ultrasound scan gives you access to diagnostic imaging without waiting for an NHS referral. At Changes Clinic, all scans are performed by qualified sonographers in our CQC-registered clinic at 1000 Lakeside, Cosham, Portsmouth. The quality of the equipment, the qualifications of the person operating it, and the speed of reporting all vary significantly between private providers. Choosing a CQC-registered clinic is the simplest way to confirm those standards are met.
Our sonographers have clinical training and experience in diagnostic imaging across multiple scan types. Reports are produced promptly and in a format that you can share with your GP or specialist. If a scan reveals findings that need further investigation, we provide clear guidance on the appropriate next steps. Our role is to give you accurate clinical information, quickly and clearly.
The booking process is simple. You do not need a GP referral to access a private scan at Changes Clinic, although you are welcome to bring any relevant paperwork or imaging if you have it. You can read more about the scan types we offer on our ultrasound scan service page.

How far is Changes Clinic from Alton?

Free parking is available at 1000 Lakeside, so you can drive directly to us without the added cost or hassle of a town centre car park, particularly useful if you are attending for an early morning scan.
Is a consultation required before an ultrasound scan?

How long do results take?
Your sonographer will discuss the findings with you at the end of your appointment, and a written report is provided the same day. The report is yours to share with your GP, specialist or any other healthcare provider. Where findings require further clinical action, we will indicate this clearly in the report and in our verbal summary.
What makes Changes Clinic different from a non-clinical scan provider?
