Private ultrasound scanning at Changes Clinic provides rapid access to diagnostic imaging without NHS waiting times. Our scans are carried out using high-resolution ultrasound equipment by trained sonographers and clinicians, and reports are prepared to a clinical standard suitable for onward referral if required.
Unlike some private scan providers who offer rapid bookings with minimal clinical context, Changes Clinic integrates ultrasound scanning into a structured clinical appointment. The clinician or sonographer reviews your symptoms and clinical history before scanning. They explain the findings during the appointment and prepare a written report. If the scan reveals findings that require further assessment or referral, we advise you clearly on the next step.
Our CQC-registered status means our scanning equipment is maintained to required standards, our practitioners hold the appropriate qualifications and our clinical processes meet the inspection criteria set out for healthcare providers. Patients who need imaging quickly should not have to sacrifice clinical rigour to get it.

What we scan
We offer musculoskeletal ultrasound (tendons, ligaments, joints, soft tissue lumps), soft tissue scans (including neck, groin and armpit lumps), scrotal ultrasound and abdominal ultrasound. Each scan type is conducted using protocols appropriate to the area being examined.
Ultrasound is a real-time, radiation-free imaging modality. It is safe, non-invasive and well tolerated. The scan itself typically takes between 20 and 40 minutes. A written report is provided at the appointment or within a short timeframe following the scan.

Common questions
How far is Changes Clinic from Chichester?
Changes Clinic is at 1000 Lakeside, Cosham, Portsmouth. From Chichester, the drive takes approximately 20 to 25 minutes via the A27 heading east towards Portsmouth. Free parking is available on site.
Is a consultation required before an ultrasound scan?
Your clinical history and symptoms are reviewed at the start of your scan appointment. This informs the scanning protocol and helps the clinician or sonographer focus on the relevant anatomy. You do not need a GP referral to book a private ultrasound scan at Changes Clinic, though bringing any relevant letters or test results from your GP is helpful if you have them.
How soon will I get my results?
The clinician or sonographer will share their findings with you during the appointment. A written report is provided at the appointment or shortly after, typically within one to two working days for complex scans. The report is formatted for onward referral to your GP or specialist if the findings require it.
What makes Changes Clinic different from other private scan providers?
Our scans are conducted in a CQC-registered clinical environment by qualified, experienced & insured practitioners. We review your clinical history before scanning, explain findings during the appointment and provide a formal written report. We can advise on next steps where the scan reveals findings requiring further investigation. Some private scan providers prioritise volume over clinical process. We prioritise getting the scan right and giving you a clear understanding of the result.
