How Permanent Makeup Works at Changes Clinic
Permanent makeup uses micro-pigmentation to deposit colour into the upper layers of the skin, creating long-lasting definition. We follow a structured three-step process for every treatment.
Step 1 — Your Free Consultation
Your practitioner discusses the look you want to achieve, assesses your facial features and skin type, and maps out the proposed shape or design before any pigment is applied. We show you the proposed shape before we begin — nothing is permanent until you agree.
Step 2 — Your Treatment
Treatment takes place at our CQC-registered clinic at 1000 Lakeside, Cosham, Portsmouth. We apply a topical anaesthetic cream before treatment to minimise discomfort. Your practitioner then applies the pigment using precise, controlled strokes calibrated to the treatment area. Sessions typically take 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on the area.
Step 3 — Your Results
Initial colour appears slightly more intense immediately after treatment and softens as the skin heals. A top-up appointment at 4 to 8 weeks is standard for all permanent makeup procedures — this allows us to refine the shape and density once the skin has settled. Long-term results last 1 to 3 years depending on the area and your skin type. Book your free consultation
About Permanent Makeup at Changes Clinic
Permanent makeup is a form of cosmetic tattooing and should be treated as such. Precision, colour knowledge and an understanding of facial anatomy all matter. Our practitioners combine technical skill with an eye for what suits different facial structures.

Why Choose Changes Clinic Near Basingstoke
CQC-registered clinical setting. Permanent makeup involves breaking the skin surface. At Changes Clinic, this is carried out in a CQC-registered clinical environment with full hygiene and infection control protocols.
A top-up appointment is included. Every permanent makeup treatment at Changes Clinic includes a follow-up at 4 to 8 weeks to refine the result once the skin has healed. This is not an optional extra.
